Happy Valentine’s day, everyone!
Now… if you’re celebrating alone like I am, that’s fine. Frankly, you’re probably the coolest person you know. At least you share all the same interests. Still though, since I can never resist some self-deprecating (sort of) humor, I’ve put together some last-minute Valentine’s Day pairings: meals for one, and the TV shows and movies that complement them. I don’t drink, so I can’t do wine pairings, but consider me a sommelier of solitude.
In as much seriousness as I can muster: I picked these meals because they’re tasty, and make for great leftovers. Whether you love or hate Valentine’s Day, you can’t argue with the advantages of making a great meal ahead of time that you can eat a few more times before it’s all gone. I’ve covered some of them here, and the rest are ones I’ve made that I’ll be putting up here eventually. I’m sure you’ll be waiting with baited breath.
Any kind of Stir Fry: Cutthroat Kitchen, because there are so many ways to make it. Click the link for a pretty great infographic about how to throw one together!

5-Ingredient Spaghetti Carbonara: Archer, because it’s deceptive, like a double agent. Something this tasty should not be this easy.

Kraft Mac & Cheese: Trailer Park Boys. You know why.
Garlic Shrimp and tortellini: Cut my version in half for a two-person serving. Eat it while watching Pride and Prejudice (whichever version you like more, but Matthew McFayden is my preferred Mr. Darcy) because you’re a sophisticated person surrounded by plebeians.

Japanese Chicken Curry: Agent Carter, because it’s a complex recipe that packs a punch.

Waffles from your favorite diner: Parks and Recreation, in homage to the show’s unapologetic view that waffles are the greatest food on Earth. Definitely worth the hassle of putting on pants and leaving your house.

Happy Valentine’s Day! And remember: treat yo’self!
